I find Methadone to be a great painkiller. It doesn’t give you that euphoria like other opiates do so I never really found myself craving for it. I actually found weak opiates like Codeine &? Dihydrocodeine more addictive.

You are right the half life of it.You wont crave anything till its almost totally out of your system. There is not this crash affect or roller coaster ride like most opioids. Since it dose have the longest half life like suboxone you will go through the most terrible withdraw imaginable if you don’t have it or get taken off of it.You can live life normally when taken as prescribed as you don’t have to re-dose very often and that’s? why people get better. Overall you can live with less medication.

Just wondering do you know why Methadone is used for withdrawal instead of the other opiates? It just seems like your trading one vice for the other. I would think its probably because of the halflife of Methadone or something I don’t know?

  • EvilAgent93:

It is? for heroine withdraw but now days used for people that will be in pain for the rest of their life. If you can don’t even entertain the idea.

  • spazitude80:

ohhh LOL that was a question homie was wondering why is Methadone for withdrawal where as for example morphine or umm hydrocodone or a lesser narcotic is not I was just wondering. never? tried Methadone for withdrawal or pain.

  • EvilAgent93:

It did for me and now I feel normal again. I got tired of the high and? sick roller coaster ride of conventional pain meds. None of them stay in the system long enough. They are a battle between being high and sick. In the middle you feel zero nothing. Try methadone.

  • EvilAgent93:

Only if you take? more than say 40 mg of methadone a day. Otherwise you will still feel percocet and or Roxy.

  • EvilAgent93:

Not anymore Endo bowed to the NWO and now the med is a joke. I am now living life normal for my chronic pain on methadone. They now charge you for the most expensive med that is worthless. I put an opana pill in a glass of water and it didnt break down after two days with the new formula. Endo you? have lost another persons business. They are ripoff artists. Get you hooked then nothing.

  • EvilAgent93:

Bull, I have been on every pain med except for subutex and detox of? methadone cold turkey to reset my tolerance is the worse. I was sick for 6 weeks only on 40mg a day for pain. I still think its the best for chronic pain as it has not cravings to take more than prescribed.

  • AndreaB388:

methadone for me was the best pain medication,is was causing me respiratory distress on 20-30 mg,not to mention that I’ve been a smoker for 38 years, and I’m sure that had something to do with the respiratory distress? also, getting off methadone for me is a living HELL.All drugs can kill you.

  • clay staggs:

This doctor is right on the money.Ive been takin methadone for two and a half years for chronic pain? and it has worked great for me.It also is dangerous when not taken correctly or if prescribed in too high of a dosage when first starting the medication. Its also very affordable if you dont have insurance.

  • Miguel Monteiro:

metadone is a business in the? USA …be carefull

  • spazitude80:

why is? methadone for withdrawal primarily is it a medication that when taken in the right amount is easier to come off of than say morphine.
