My mom’s been on methadone for 15 years (11 for drug addiction, past 4 for pain). Her methadone clinic has literally ruined her life over the past few months. They’ve talked to her doctor without her consent to have her taken off xanax. Their original plan was they told her to come off one pill one week, one the next and one the next. To come off xanax in 3 weeks and she’s legally prescribed them. They told her not to tell her doctor about this either. It didn’t work. They’ve made her sign blank undated consent forms or they threatened to kick her off or not dose her. They refuse to lower her methadone level (in fact, they raised it without her knowing) They refuse to let her switch to another clinic. She has to go 6 days a week and we don’t have a car and it’s hard to get there. They said they refuse to give her takehome (methadone she can take home, she was on takehome for 10 years until she lost a bottle and they didn’t believe her) until she comes off all her pills. What can we do?

So with the pain management doctor got all the way up to snorting 10 80’s a day and then finally one day he said, “I think you are abusing these and flat out cut me off” Talk about death. I am a 36 year old with a good accounting job with no prior history of pain med addiction. Learn to snort from internet. So after a day or two of hell, I went to the Methadone clinic. Got put on 35 up to 70 for 8 months. Ended up losing my job because I was late so many times. Now 9 moths later couldn’t afford to pay and got admin detox. 3 weeks from 70 to 0. Now I’m 9 days into detox and I’m feeling worse everyday. No sleep for 9 days and that’s why I took the perk 5’s and Vicoden to try to get one moments rest. House now in foreclosue and wife and child left thinking I’m a drug addict. All from one accident and what I think was some irresponsible medical treatment.
Any advice please. As I am losing my mind and am freezing, sleepless, and completely depressed. Cry often

I have had enough of being on Methadone.I’ve been on 25mg for 2weeks now cause when i went down to 15 the pain was unbearable.What I like to no is how long is the withdrawal(cold turkey) symptoms last?What can I do to ease them (home remedies)?I’m just so sick of this shit having control over my life.I’m sick of week after week someone watching me take a piss.I don’t feel very sober being on this stuff and I want to be free of it for good…I ask about the withdrawals cause I have 7mo old twin girls and cant really be out of commision to long I have help at night time but not during the day.So can someone offer any advice or relief????

I am currently taking 2-3mg of Xanax a day (percribed). I am also addicted to Oxycontin. I have been taking 80-160mg whenever I can get it. Usually every other day for 2 years. I am going to a Methadone Clinic Tuesday. And I am wondering if they will perscribe me the Methadone scince I am taking Xanax. I am going through withdrawls this weekend. I need help getting off the Oxys, and am very serious about quiting, but don’t have insurance to go to doctor, or espically rehab. Can the methadone really help if i’m very serious about quitting. I’ve heard alot of mixed thing on methadone, i’m just scared cause i really need my xanax on somedays. Thank You

Can a doctor or his staff , i.e. physicians assistant, call a methadone clinic and give them information without the patient signing a release? The methadone clinic WILL NOT give them any information even that a person is going there because of the patient confidentiality act. I know you have to sign releases for other records and I wonder if this would have a different law?
