know it sound easy right? Just stop taking them. Its not that easy. Heres my story…. My friends and I started taking hydrocodone 10/500
Like everyone else it was 1 or 2 a day. we didn’t see this to be a problem. It made us happy, energetic, and it was down right fun. We had a “great Doctor” that would prescripe us 220 monthly. we would all take turns and go and share the pills this was no one was with out. We would sell enough to pay for the next visit. we thought life was great! This went on for about 5 years. At the top of my hydro party I was taking about 10 to 12 a day. Until my husband moved on to oxys roxys and then delata. I never did any of that. I just took my hyro.at that point we realized we had a problem. My husband is now on 90 lis of methadone a day which works for him. 1 of are friends is in prison and the other I am not sure. Some are clean and some are not. I went to the Methadone clinic for 2 years and took 20 mils for the 1st yr and then weened myself down to 5. I couldn’t stop the 5 as silly as that may sound. around that time I hurt my knee and had unsecessful surgery. My knee doc gave me hydrocodone again and I thought this time I will only take what he perscribes. Little did I know he would put me on 8 a day. Sounds crazy I know. I don’t take 8 I take 4 a day. I do not want to quit cold turkey because I am afraid to not take anything.I really don’t know what to do. I am very scared. I was ok when I stopped the methadone I never had any withdraws. But thats because I went back to using my drug of choice. The thought of being sick scares me and I can’t take time off of work. Help me please!!!!!

I’m urrently in a methadone treatmeent program, but can’t afford it. Monday I’m going to a suboxone doctor. My methadone clinic knows I’m on xanax, and I don’t abuse it, and seems fine. I’m worried the suboxone doctor won’t take me in because of the xanax I’m prescribed. I’m on 30mg of methadone, down from 60, and not feeling well. 50-60 was a perfect dose for me. 1.) Will the doctor even see me since i’m on xanax, 2.) what do you think he will start me out on. I just started a good new job, and can’t lose it, and don’t wanna be sick. 10 POINTS TO ANYONE THAT CAN HELP ME, PLS. Thank You

I have fibromyalgia, DDD, spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis. I am 43 years old. I started having terrible pain about 15 yrs ago after a bad fall and have had 3 more bad falls since. My pain became chronic about 5 yrs ago. I am on ambiem, cymbalta, tramadol (8/50 mg tabs per day) and Soma. I have never been involved in any internet blog/forum. The pain clinic prescribed me w/methadone about 2 yrs ago with vicodin for breakthrough. About a yr ago I was up to 80 mg/day. The last 6 months I have had NO ambition or energy. 2 weeks ago, I stopped taking the methadone on my own. I know that is risky but I could not stand life as a zombie. I tappered down to 20 mg/day and the last week to 10 mg/day. Then I stopped totally 2 weeks ago. The 1st week was not too bad but I was weak & achey. This past week has been awful. Terrible stomach problems (I started on milk thistle to clean my colin), and pain behind belief Just about 4 hours ago, I gave in and took 10 mg. I feel normal with no pain.

My question is can I just go to any of the doctors that gave me pain meds and ask for methadone so I can get off the opiates and not have to deal with the withdrawl. How should I go about dealing wtih my addiction. I dont have the money for detox or a treatment place plus it isnt that bad of an addiction but I do know if i quit taking the pain meds I will go through withdrawls for a couple weeks. So how do I get methadone to get over this addiction. Do I need to go to a methadone clinic or can I just go to any random doctor and explain and are the odds good that I will get the methadone so I slowly get off the opiate addiction.
I am not a junkie so dont even insult me with responses relating or even implying this. I had a back disease for the past 6 years but is slowly getting better through treatment. My doctor that diagnosed me suffered a major heart attack and is unable to work anymore so I was forced to see random doctors to get my pain meds. Not a junkie, just was in pain

I’m doing research because I’m responding to an editorial about local methadone clinics. I’m pretty sure it’s not as easy as “just walking in to your doctors office and getting a script for suboxone and moving on with your day”. I think you have to be below 100mg of methadone to get on Suboxone. Anyone have experience that would be willing to share with me? Also, what are for-profit methadone clinics?
