She says she needs to go to a Methadone Clinic, but all I see in Tampa are out patient. I’m so scared she’s going to end up killing herself if doesn’t get help–But I seriously don’t believe she’s hit Rock bottom yet. I have Temp custody of her 11 month old baby girl and she has been with me since her birth. My niece is living in this fantasy world and a very unreasonable person–I can’t do this anymore. The baby lives with me and I have assistance for her, but now the Mother is wanting to get medicaid for herself to go to a Methadone clinic–Now she wants me to put the baby’s Medicaid BACK in her name!! I just can’t do that, I don’t trust her.–She is in NO condition to take care of this baby.
Is there ANY other way to get her In Patient help without her getting Medicaid? Or can she get Medicaid for this–even though I had to comply with Child Support enforcement–which they said she couldn’t–HELP–How do I help this girl and keep the baby–I can’t have her snatching the baby from here–This is her home!
She was also supposed to pick up the baby’s WIC on Friday, but called and canceled–she lied to me about it and said THEY made a mistake with her appointment–But I spoke to them and they said SHE didn’t show up and DID have an appointment!
If anyone has any advice–I sure would appreciate it–I’m going through hell with this girl. I don’t want her taking the baby back in her condition.

I Have been on hydros, lortab for 13 years. Im 28 and have tried every thing from the methadone clinic, about died coming off of that. The withdrawls were horrible.. The suboxone is working wonders, but I dont want to get addicted to it, I want to taper off, also has any one heard of suboxone giving someone depression? I am at a very scared point right now, the sub is so expensive, ive got to taper, Today I took 2 and felt fine, but ive been taking 4 subs and sometimes more, even though my Dr said after 32mg it does nothing to you. I was in pain and the Dr said I should not be hurting Im on the max dose. Ive also heard ive prolly got methadone residue still in my bones i was on it for 8 months, lost 40 lbs coming off it, and im a thin guy anyway. Im at a good weight now at 178. When I was taking 20 hydro 10mg a day I was very under weight, and would go hungry just so I would feel my pills kick in. I am really gonna give it my all, I just hope the withdrawls from the sub is not horrible

Our daughter is a heroin addict. She is extremely intelligent and has a college degree. She says she wants to quit, but will not go through detox (withdrawl) as she has done this before. We have been told that methadone and suboxone treatments are a possible solution for her. Any feedback on this?

I was put on methadone when i found out i was pregnant and in dtox due to being addicted to pain killers. While trying to go which i thought would be detox they informed me that i would have to go on methadone maintenance cuz opiat withdrawal could be fatal to babies. Now its 8 mo later and I’m still on maintance and my boyfriend is giving me a hard time saying its time to get off of it.he wants me to do it cold turkey and once before i have lowered my dose to 15 and couldn’t bear the pain it had lasted well over a month.I no methadone is not a way to live but for right now i truly believe it is keeping me sober now that i’m a new mom of twin girls and unable to get to my meetings that i went to bfore i was pregg.I need advice to tell him to let me wean off the methadone at a slow pace cuz if you don’t the chances of relapsing are greater when you wean off at a fast rate.. I’m at a low dose now.i was on 80 now i dropped to 25 and i really feel the pain from that but i’m dealing with it.

My partner has been on heroin for 10 years. He recently went into detox and lasted there for 2 weeks but he was also detoxing from methadone after he came out he started suffering more because his last dose of that was only 2 days before he came out and it takes longer to detox from this. So after a couple of days suffering and the symptoms getting worse he took a small amount of heoin as he couldn’t cope with the withdrawal symptoms, he said that was much worse than ever stopping the heroin. At first he was only doing a small amount but is now back to the amount he was on before. I don’t know how to deal with it. I find myself constantly having a go at him and putting him down because i just want us to have a normal life. He always tells me that me putting him down and shouting at his all the time is making it harder for him? Is this true? I always think that this is an excuse but i suppose he could be right. I don’t have anyone to talk to my family don’t know and i’m pregnant
Thanks for you answers. The thing is i do think that he wants to stop otherwise he wouldn’t have gone into detox and stayed there for the whole 2 weeks of the course. I know it sounds silly but me having a go at him probably doesn’t help because it causes him more stress which makes it harder for him, the same i suppose for people who are trying to stop smoking if something happens and you are really stressed out the first thing you want to do is smoke. He says that when i have a go at him it makes him want to do more just so that he can fall asleep and not have to put up with it. He doesn’t inject anymore he stopped doing that a couple of years ago and now just smokes it so surely that is a sign he wants to sort himself out?
He also holds down a full time job and has never stolen to pay for his addiction
