I paid my 1st months rent and received the keys but the following day the landlord said he couldn’t rent to me because I was in a methadone clinic. He knew this before he took my check.I just wanted to know if this was legal for him to do? He lied and said he tried to get ah old of my last landlord and said the number was disconnected which it wasn’t because I called him on it after he said that. this landlord knew 4-5 days before we even met in person about the clinic. My last landlord was giving me a good Reference and all. I have lived at my past place 3 years with out any trouble and always paid my rent on time.
