I am legally on a methadone clinic ,tomorrow i take a drug test for a job I always wanted ! My clinic has issued me a photo id and are willing to give me a letter stating I have been a 1 day a week pickup patient for many years , model patient , etc. should I tell the lab this or keep quite . I am proud of my recovery! I had been employed by my company for 13 years , but was released due to downsizing. This job means a lot , I need help I couldn’t speak to my counsel she was out today . help please!

Since methadone is still in your system the lab, I believe, will find traces of it. If you tell your perspective employer about this before the lab results are given to him he will know you are not hiding anything. Whether you are hired or not will depend on his view of your situation.

If I were interviewing you your honesty would be a positive factor and it would work in your favor. Also, to have held a job for 13 years shows what a good employee you are. You are reliable and can be depended on to come to work. Not many people can hold a job for that long and they can be in the best of health. Good luck to you.
