hi, i have a question about the drug suboxone..?

languagelover21 asked:

thanks in advance for your answers! i was addicted to oxycontin, heroin, and general pain killers for about six years. i decided to turn my life around and i went to the methadone clinic, however i was tired of being a junkie and i decided to begin taking suboxone in an effort to kick everything once and for all. i read excellent reviews about how this drug has saved people’s lives who abused opiates, and i am confident it will be right for me. however, i did not ask my doctor about the interaction with my other medication and he is obviously not in his office anymore today and i am starting to have a slight withdrawal type ache. i took only two milligrams earlier today which is probably not enough, i just was not sure how it would interact with me. i take klonipin (.5 mgs t.i.d.) and primidone (mysoline, 50 mgs b.i.d.) for anxiety and panic disorder. does anyone have any experience with this medication? if so, i would appreciate your input very much :-)

also, should i feel like i am loaded while on this? i was expecting it to be different from methadone… but i still feel that loaded kind of feeling if that makes any sense…?

thanks all!
thanks very much for your answer, and i appreciate you being judgmental toward people because some folks need a good brow-beating. however, i started on opiates because of pain. i have five tears in my left rotator cuff and continuously dislocate and tear up my right shoulder (i used to bodybuild fairly heavily and i did three years in the service). problem was docs didnt want me to get addicted (whoops too late) and heroin was a good escape since it is so much cheaper than oxycontin. i have gone through plenty things in my life… i appreciate any answer but i was really asking about the possible poor interaction of suboxone and klonipin or primidone. thank you again!

So you were a junkie on Methadone? YOU WERE DOSED TO HIGH! The Suboxone might not even work for you, it depends on how much you were using for no matter what you take, it has a ceiling and it only will work half way no matter what is in you.

Why are people on this stuff also on Klonopin??? So you went to a methadone clinic and felt like a junkie, but suboxone you won’t feel like one? Explain this to me? You SHOULD not feel loaded on methadone and you went to a BOZO clinic that jacked the crap out of you because you were on Heroin. They kept you loaded because that is what they thought they were treating, someone that wanted to be loaded,High man, Buzzed.

I got news for you, if you were using heroin there is a very strong liklehood sub is not going to do a damn thing for you.read (Mentally you are going to go through hell) this and from what all I know from people I know it is true, you should have weaned with the Methadone. Get on the sub and get off it in three months tops!

I got news for you and I hate to be blunt, but A person has no business messing with opiates unless they have real pain man. I couldn’t be loaded on anything if my life depended on it. It all goes to bad back. Sad but true. Walk a day in my shoes. You would kill yourself. So if you came from pain, you should not want to be high. And Klonopin, no wonder you have panic disorder, the reasons for using these two drugs is pointless man.

ANd if you have pain still Suboxone is going to be a nightmare. Suboxone and Klonopin is a horrible mix, mixing any opiate with a benzo and it is deadly, BUT people use this combination a lot, personally I think they are out of their mind. I wrote to much to get into the pharmaceutical reasons this is a bad mix, (BUT IT IS!)google dynodikk and benzo/opiates and I am sure there is an answer.

Unlike methadone Suboxene does not immediatly cure withdrawl. It contains nalaxone or narcan so you cannot use any other opiate as it will make you sick and not feel anything. It sounds like you want to get off so keep with it as in a week the nalaxone interaction will be gone as opiates will be so you will feel a lot better but at first excpect to be uncomfortable and drink gatorade, don’t smoke, and avoid caffiene. also take Maalox or something like it. good luck. do not listen to junkie who wrote you should be on methadone and not klonopin. klonopin is used for many disorders like Tic disorder which i have taken for 29 years. also suboxene will work when your levl is adjusted and opiate sare out as i said. He is an idiot probaly high on heroin. You may feel loaded as you have to give anything a week to get used to. methadone is hardest opiate to come off and people mostly do not ever stop ata low dose. There is suboxene without naloxene but at your stage you would be able to still take pain meds as no nalaxone That is point to get you to stop. The person above is someone who does not really want to stop and goes to rehab to think there is a magical cure.

PS once a Dr. was filling in for my pain dr. and he gave me Stadol whioh has same effect as nalaxone and i was sicker then from withdrawl and pain from 12 back surgerioes.
