Small doses of methadone the reporter says. Some people are on over 100mgs a day! There’s a guy I know that’s been going to the clinic for 10 years and they just gave him another 10mg increase. That’s helping them get off drugs? That’s helping the owners line their pockets. If methadone kept you clean there wouldn’t be people still using? while on methadone. So yeah it’s easier to get methadone than it is to get heroin because it’s free for some people I would say most people. But it is still an opiate and they try to keep you on it as long as possible. The success rate isn’t very high either. There are so many the come back after they stop methadone. There needs to be another way and I’m not an addiction specialist but those that are need to come? up with something different.

They need to close them all down! Those places are? nothing but legal drug dealers with a license. I’m not saying those people don’t need help. They do. But these clinics aren’t the answer. They don’t help people get off the drug and when they do it’s as slow as they can do it giving you every excuse in the book not to decrease you. If they are going to use methadone then it should be at a real doctor’s office so they can monitor you closer. Something but clinics are not the answer

I think it depends on how long you where on methadone and how fast the patient was detox. Patients should be kept on the last dose of 5 or 1 millogram for a month, before the patient is taken off all together. Too many clinics take patients down too fast.It is also recommendable that the patient be changed from methadone to Suboxone,. I have gotten off Suboxone without any symptoms of detoxification what so ever. Only? the life pains and aggravations. Most clinics ignore science.
Last time I checked the cost for retail methadone was 1/2 penny a? milligram.That translate into.35cts./70 milligram dose.Now when the clinic charge$13/dose,what is the profit margin?I understand that the clinic pays 4 the rent&utilities.But for the most part counseling is a waste of time & money.How much counseling is going to be useful,when studies has shown one after another that counseling makes little difference in suboxone & methadone treatment.Who pays?We r screwed royally & no one cares
