It’s good to see a positive message from someone detoxing off methadone. I
was on a high dose, and double/triple dosing with xanax chasers, for almost
3 years. Lost in methadonia wearing the liquid hand-cuffs. I wanted
freedom from this more then anything I’ve ever wanted. It took me 3 times,
Cold turkey, I made it to the 2 week mark twice. Once in a hospital with
nothing but clonidine. Once at a friend’s house with just a little
cannabis. Both times I felt so terrible that my body went back to the
clinic while my mind shouted no. 3rd time, at my mom’s for thanksgiving,
and decided to cold turkey again (lol tg turkey)…I didn’t tell my mom
till I was 5 days into it. I suffered pretty hard for 5 more days, and
then by some kinda miracle, I felt better and could actually eat and sleep.
I’m almost to DAY 30 and feel AMAZING. If I would’ve listened to all the
fearful people from the clinic, I may have been on the ‘done for the rest
of my life. So happy I did this. It is possible 🙂 I am gonna make a
video diary, bc it helps a lot…Thank u for this!?

Hey Kent my name is rob. I really appreciate your videos. I am 30 and am in
the process of wanting to get off methadone which sadly I have been on for
ten years. I want to be free of this more than anything in the world. ?

@peterHmode The reason I put on so much weight was the meth was making me
    soooo constipated,and I finally realised it wasn’t fat I was putting on,I
was just FULL of shit, bad fluids.i was blown up like a ballon.and that’s
why iv change to subutex.which is much better.im now eating proper
food.trust me get off it quick.

  • GhibliFan1:

If you do it slowly enough, and over a very LONG period of time, you can
taper off methadone or Suboxone and only have mild WD’s. I gave up a 15
year addiction to methadone with a taper that took 2 years… dropping tiny
amounts every few weeks. By the time I stopped I was barely dipping my
tongue in it… a fraction of a ml… and I managed to sleep every night
and eat my meals. All I got was mild restless legs, a slightly loose
stomach and a drop in energy. That all passed in a month or so.

  • MrMaxyield:

Good for you! How long, and how much methadone were you taking? I was at
130mgs, now I’m down to 55, dropping 10mgs each week…. Did you taper off?
I found your vid pretty inspiring, thanks man!……:)

So did the numbness turn out to be neuropathy? I got off methadone 5 months
ago & my fingers are numb and vision is blurry sometimes.

  • Kent M:

    Things are going great Dee…

  • peterHmode:

Well I am on 80mgs now, but I was on 60mgs for 4 years and then went down
to 40mgs and it wasnt fine so back to 80mgs. Thats where I am now. I was
actually off from it for 4 months in 2007 but I was still having pains and
nerv-problems when my doctor said take a small dose again… (I guess it
was easier for her to deal with me and you know how is it when a doctor
offers you… I accepted.) However now I am thinking to try to get off
again due to my bad weight gain… How is with you going?

  • Kent M:

It took me a year to go from 85mgs to 25mgs…I would go down 5mgs every
    3-5 weeks….

  • peterHmode:

    Did you do it?
