Now I only go every 2 weeks to pick up the Suboxone films. Suboxone makes it almost impossible to get high off of any opiate or opioid. You literally have to be off of the suboxone for 10 days before you will feel the full effect of an opiate/opioid. It is also very hard to abuse due to the ceiling effect, and its formulated so? there is zero potential for iv abuse. At least the new version (films) are protected so you can not abuse them. Subutex is for people who have been sober for a while.
I still go to a clinic. I started out going there for a hydrocodone/oxycodone/xanax addiction and ended up screwed. I started out on methadone liquid 40mg per day and it got me buzzed for about a week. Then? they kept asking me if I wanted to go up in dose, knowing ofcourse I would say yes. This continued for 7 or 8 months until I was up to 120mg dailiy! I then decided to get off methadone and tapered all the way down to 30mg and switched over to Suboxone which is way better for addicted people.
Tapering from methadone/methadose is way worse than any traditional opiate like Heroin, Oxy, or even Fentanyl. The methadone has a way longer half life than reg opiates so when you come in to a clinic for “Hydrocodone withdrawl” and they put you on 50mg of methadone,? you are jumping from the pot into the frying pan literally. There is a reason that when you start MMT that you get buzzed your first week or so, that is because they are putting you on a way stronger opiate then you are used to.
Please! Methadone clinics! They all should be illegal. They are no different than legal drug dealers. The scam & lie just like a street hustler. I go to one I should know. I was fooled for a few months but no more! They took advantage of my grieving, addiction and my good nature. People don’t understand? how dumb this program is. You don’t have withdrawals because you are still on an opiate. So then you have to taper from methadone. You might as well have tapered off the drug you were on!
