I was wondering i was on Suboxone for 4 months before that I was taking 7.5 lortabs, I was wondering because I’ve done some research Suboxone isn’t good or any help. I have cronic lower back pain and I was wondering if I could get my pain medication back? And why I went to a subonone clinc was because there was and accident in my family where my aunt got shot in the face. But I wasn’t ” abusing ” loratabs I wanted to save myself. But I can’t bare the pain no more! Help! Please thank you.
Old goat, I wasn’t sent to a sub clinic. My PCP ( primary care physician ) knows my story knows my life knows everything! Just like I said about my aunt I just wanted to save myself more. And I heard subs are not good. And thank you for your answer.

Nope. Everyone is a drug addict don’t you know that? Every doctor on TV, every detective show, every blog, newspaper, you name it, say so. It must be true. Another example of a relative that knows nothing about pain or pain drugs and the doctors that agree with them.
Go back to your back pain doctor even if he was the one who sent you to the suboxone clinic. Tell the truth. IF they want to compromise on methadone, if that gives them warm fuzziezs, methadone is as good a pain medication as oxycodone, costs pennies a tablet, and lasts longer than most long acting pain drugs. Better be sure you have no problem, and the doctor can help with that. Be HONEST and don’t try to impress. You wont find any pesky euphoria with methadone- but good honest pain control, so forget angling in to another pain drug except as a rescue dose and you didn’t need one before. Methadone should go all day one (maybe 2) doses.
BUT if any other motives besides pain relief are involved, you’ll wish you stayed with suboxone. Feel obliged to say it.

ya methadone should be givben to people lightyl its seriously physically addictive stuff 10 times the withdrawel pain and instad of a 6 day detox like dope or pills its a 2 month detox. so yes methadone is great for full blown IV herion user who have tried and failed all other treatment attempts. it saved my life but as you said its very difficult to get off of and many will be on for life so that there is a big thing to think about? are you willing to be on a clinic forever? defly a last resort

I have 5 herniated disks in my back and have never been addicted to vicoden or hydrocodone becuase it was never enough to handle my pain. Now they have me on methadone and its actually managing my pain. It’s? not getting me high. It’s the only thing so far that handles my pain when my steroid epidurals wear off. Not everyone who takes these drugs have an addictive personality like myself.

I take it and it helps me with my nerve damage better than anything else. I am very careful with it,? because I don’t want to die and I don’t want my tolerance built up. Anyone who takes medicine for long, will be addicted. Your body won’t function right without it. I believe if you are a responsible person, that u can have success with this. Only take what you need and NEVER take more than your doctor says to,

methadone works great through the first two weeks of stopping the hard detox. after the first day i was ready to check out and go home. but i stuck it out and once the methadone was stopped i started back on my pain meds due to pain. this last time i used suboxone and it worked far better than methadone and i only used it for the first two weeks then quit it also. you can feel it just cutting back one miligram a day. its that strong. so? dont get addicted to suboxone also. good luck
they have come out with the new form of oxycontin this month. so that people cannot abuse it unless they just chew it up and swallow it. the days of shooting up and snorting and smoking it is passed. so now even just swallowing it people with a high tolerance and are used to injecting it are going through detox with the new form. we need more programs like this? or suboxone to use instead of people going to heroin to keep from getting sick. thanks and godbless.
I was on methadone it was just a substitution for the morphine i was injecting. I did not know how i was? ever going to get off the garbage. I found a faith based program called reformers unanimous . I give all the glory to God .
I believe that heroin or opium maintenance is a better treatment, they could used the drugs seized in afganistan and licence? the farmers there and buy off them to take it away from the drufg barons, the farmers would face no risk so they wouldnt sell to barons, even if we get an opium mountain, here u can get diamorphine maintenance in some cases or dipepanone, but morphine etc is better as the short detox is preferable.
what is ur opinion on naltrexone detox.

It’s tougher when a couple is on methadone because if they both try to? get off, I or more will probably fail. Stay clean off of other drugs and lower your dose and stay in touch. You can do it if you want to and there’r no time limit on detox.
