@kristalblair This poem? was written by an addict. You are 23 years old and the addicts I personally know were active junkies for longer than you have been alive. Visit an NA or AA meeting and you will hear people admitting to their life as a junkie, a drunk, a meth-head, a coke-fiend. These adjectives are descriptive, not degrading. The behaviors of the addict are their own degradation. Mincing words doesn’t do the addict any favors. The addict doesn’t walk on eggshells and neither do I.
