Agree with the comment below about the drug still having a hold on you when your counting everyday, time to rip the calendar up and say “what methadone”? because its obvious you still crave it.

Hello Kent, My name is Kenny, i’m in my 30’s. I watched your video for the first time? and to be honest, you touched on something that many may miss or not be able to relate, in reference to being on METHADONE and interacting with family, friends, though not being spiritually grounded. Kent, if you have the time, I would definitely appreciate it if I could ask or get a few pointers from someone who knows exactly what it takes and what to expect along the way. though if not I truly understand.

if? you are counting the years the months the weeks the days the hours and the minutes……………….it only means drugs still has a hold of you…and thats all you can think about……………if thats the case…..i would rather just do the drugs than think about them every minute of the day without getting high

Part of methadone withdrawal is depression and being unable to experience any? joy. How long did it take for your brain to get back on line, and start producing the natural good mood chemicals that a normal person produces by doing things that are pleasurable to him or her. I had one friend who started to laugh again and get his sense of humor back after about 8 months of abstinence… is this typical?

I’m glad to hear your success. I’m on 80 mg and i’m planning to go down 5mg per week till i get to 40mg. I’m hoping that will be a slow enough taper. After that i plan to go down 3mg? till I get to 15mg. Then maybe 1 mg a week till i’m off

    Awww? Thanks Kent!

  • Kent M:

Hi! You will be able to do it!!! Stay? strong. I will be thinking about you…

  • Kent M:

You are so right. I felt as if I had to pay a little for what I had put myself through and I did suffer but I got through it I also had a flood? of emotion sweep over me but I didn’t use. I have been through a lot of things clean these past 2 years and I have done it all without the use of drugs. You can too. Make a plan a be prepared.I wish you the best.

  • Lori862:

Ok ty! I’ll let you know how it goes!?

  • bunchwestley:

Well I can prob say that the less you get down to it will be easier that coming off higher dose. I have never done that way so I cant speak on it. But, for you to get down? to 17.5 is an accomplishment in itself. I just think it wont be to to bad as apposed to coming off 40 in 21 days. I do know there is no easy way there is that time where you take it away the body will protest and thats when the real work sets in. At least for me. good luck.

  • Lori862:

Yeah I made a mistake? back then. Right now I am on 17.5mg. I just told them I want a 21 day detox. How bad will that be for me?

  • Lori862:

Of course I am no Dr but I kno prob more about this subject than most Drs. I can tell you that withdraw from opiates isnt? gona kill ya. But it made me feel like it would kill me. People are as different as snowflakes so they all handle things so different. But it isnt threat to life. But if you have any other issues such as high bp or high lipid panel you would defin wana consult your DR cause it will elevate your bp. And also it has to come out of your body so you will be in the bathroom alot.

  • bunchwestley:

Yea thanks for your comment. I think that is pretty much the only way to go. What I have came to realize there is no easy way to get off you will have a little suffering. Its nice to know it can be done. When I came off in a detox they just gave me Phenobarbital. And some vitamins when I came outa my funk all these emotions just came to me? and it was overwhelming. I was numb and had not felt for so long I couldnt handle it. So basically you know what happ I wasnt prepared.

  • Kent M:

No I din’t but I am? sure that each one of us will react differently.

  • Kent M:

No? you won’t die. You can do it…

  • Kent M:

Hi! I was on methadone for several years. I tried to quit once and I couldn’t do it. So I decided to make a plan. I would take a year to slowly taper from 85mg to 25mg then get off. I told my Doctor what my plan was and she said that when the time? came they would help me. So I did just that. After about a year I got off at 25mg and my Doctor prescribed an anxiety drug which I used as prescribed for about 3 days after that the worst was over. For months I felt like crap but now feel great.

  • cherylannemarie:

No. I’m 50 and got off of 93mg after 7? years–went to detox 60 days clean and I’m ALIVE.

  • bunchwestley:

I think as people who go through? this demon drug it is very important for us to share with each other and help each other because this is a very hard thing to overcome. When you are trying to get this shit outa your system it is a very hard and lonely road to travel. Only a person who has been down this road can understand and I commend you for putting yourself out there to show others it can be done.

  • bunchwestley:

Do u mind if I ask how u went about that? Meaning did you taper or did you do cold turkey?? Your story hit me because I am on the demon drug and I feel the same like my soul is hurting an this drug is pushing the light inside of me down. I have seen a lot of videos about this subject and you actually look like you have that spark back in your life. I have only saw this video so just wanted to ask how u did it. I will be taking this journey again for the second time soon.

  • stop jihad:

U can do it!!!! You’ll want something to help you sleep….valium was a good idea….. it helped me because I couldn’t sleep? when I got off the clinic. I was at 80mg for 1 yr and did a 21 day detox.
