I know youre on yahoo and everyone expects to get bummer answers on here regarding this sort of thing, but really, opiate abuse is a long and winding road. You will NEVER be happy if youre always trying to get high on that. As im sure you know, using just results in tolerance which results in dependance.

If you have access to medication which can help you quit, why try to abuse it? Theres alot of dope fiends who have the shakes and cold sweats for weeks because they quit cold turkey without meds. Youre lucky enough to have the help to not be as unckmfortable as you could be.

The thing about these meds is that they replace the opiate you were taking, so you get hooked on them, too, but its probably better than whatever youre using.

I would say to go with methadone. Better buzz, slightly energetic feeling.

Really neither. They’re NOT made to provide that. They’re made to ease the withdrawal from opiates symptoms. Also, just for giggles, Look up suboxone. Take a close look at the make up of it. It has two components. The second one is what I am referring to. It’s naloxone. Otherwise known widely as narcan. Which is a narcotic antagonist used to reverse the effects of narcotics, most widely used for opiate overdose in emergency situations, and in hospitals sometimes to reverse narcotic effects in some patients that are adversely effected by a narcotic. So, in reality, it doesn’t look much like you’ll get a “high” at all from suboxone. And, I really don’t think you’ll get “high” at all from methadone. The reason I make this statement is that it’s obvious that you’re an opiate, or opioid addict, or you wouldn’t be being treated with either of these drugs. And, being an addict, you’re going to have not only a high tolerance, but difficulty even getting a high. I know this because I am legally opiate dependent, and am on high doses of two drugs, one an opiate, one an opioid. I’ve been on these for eight years through a Pain Management Specialist due to chronic, severe pain from severe nerve damage caused by surgery for a spinal cord tumor. I will be in pain, and on medication for it, for life. I don’t feel either one of these. I didn’t feel any effects when given a large IV dose of morphine in the ER. It didn’t make me groggy, slur my speech, buzz, or anything else. It just eased the pain that I was experiencing at the time. I don’t feel the effects of alcohol even. So, I know what I am talking about from experience, and the fact that I spent 30 years as a medical professional. You’re lucky to have this treatment rather than just suffering a couple of weeks of awful withdrawal symptoms! Rather than worrying about getting high, concentrate on healing, and getting off the drugs. Good luck, and God bless!
